DARA BioSciences receives NASDAQ non-compliance notice

On March 16, 2010, DARA BioSciences, Inc. received notice from the Listing Qualifications Staff of The NASDAQ Stock Market LLC indicating that the Company had not timely regained compliance with the $1.00 bid price requirement, as set forth in Listing Rule 5550(a)(2). DARA plans to timely request a hearing before a NASDAQ Listing Qualifications Panel, at which it will request the continued listing of its securities on The NASDAQ Capital Market pending the completion of its plan to evidence compliance with the minimum bid price requirement.

Performing x-rays using iodine dye increases risk for kidney failure

Performing x-rays using iodine dye places patients with impaired kidney function at increased risk for kidney failure. Known as Contrast-Induced Nephropathy (ne-FROPP-a- thee) or ''CIN,'' this complication is the third most common cause of hospital-acquired kidney failure in the United States and Europe, accounting for 10-12 percent of all such cases.

Allen Institute, Blue Brain Project collaborate to develop simulation-based tools to study neurons

The Allen Institute for Brain Science and the Blue Brain Project are deepening their collaboration. Today, the US-based Allen Institute is releasing a set of 40 computer models of neurons from the mouse visual cortex, created using tools developed by the Swiss-based Blue Brain Project at EPFL. Using Blue Brain technology, the researchers were able to reproduce the physiology and electrical activity of the neurons with an extremely high level of detail.
