HIIT program effective in improving aerobic performances in early-stage operable NSCLC patients

Preoperative high-intensity interval training (HIIT) in patients with resectable non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) improved aerobic performance in patients but failed to reduce early complications after tumor resection.

Optics Express publishes special focus issue on lung cancer imaging research

Advanced imaging technologies that promise to improve the development of effective drugs to treat lung cancer are the focus of the current special issue of Optics Express, an open-access journal published by the Optical Society (OSA). Research featured in the special focus issue on Imaging in Diagnosis and Treatment of Lung Cancer outlines standardized approaches to measure and compare tumor size, as well as to validate the accuracy of such measurements under defined settings.

Viron Therapeutics Inc., a biopharmaceutical company pioneering the development of viral protein therapeutics, announced today that the Company's research collaborator, Dr. Jean-Claude Tardif, Director of the Research Center at the Montreal Heart Institute, will present data from a Phase IIa clinical trial evaluating VT-111 at the American Heart Association (AHA) Scientific Sessions 2009 conference. The conference will take place in Orlando, Florida from November 14 to 18, 2009.
