Methane-eating bacteria survive in Lost Hammer spring similar to possible springs on Mars

Researchers at McGill's department of natural resources, the National Research Council of Canada, the University of Toronto and the SETI Institute have discovered that methane-eating bacteria survive in a highly unique spring located on Axel Heiberg Island in Canada's extreme North. Dr. Lyle Whyte, McGill University microbiologist explains that the Lost Hammer spring supports microbial life, that the spring is similar to possible past or present springs on Mars, and that therefore they too could support life.

A.M. Best affirms ratings of ProAssurance

ProAssurance Corporation today highlighted recent rating actions by A.M. Best, affirming the "A" Excellent ratings assigned to the ProAssurance Group and upgrading The PICA Group and The Podiatry Insurance Company of America (PICA) to "A" (Excellent) and ProAssurance National Casualty to "A-" (Excellent). The ratings outlook for each is Stable. Further, Best affirmed the "A-" (Excellent) Ratings of ProAssurance Wisconsin and PACO Assurance Company, a subsidiary of PICA.
