Oncolytic virotherapy lends benefits to melanoma patients

Recent study published online by Melanoma Research journal indicates that melanoma patients would significantly benefit from prolonging the survival with oncolytic viroherapy treatment. The study revealed that the early stage melanoma patients treated with oncolytic medicine Rigvir were 4 to 6 times more likely to survive than those who following the current guidelines for the treatment of melanoma were only observed.

New micromanipulator for precise operations involving cochlear and middle ear implants

A team of engineers from the CEIT-IK4 technological centre and doctors from the University Hospital of Navarra have designed a new tool for operating on the inner ear with maximum precision, reducing the possibility of damage to the auditory function during the surgery. This is the first micromanipulator specifically for operations involving cochlear and middle ear implants, of which about a hundred are carried out in this hospital annually. Taking part in developing the new tool were four engineers from CEIT and five ear, nose and throat specialists from the University Hospital of Navarra.

BGRF scientists help develop AI to expedite drug development for age-related conditions

The Chief Science Officer of the Biogerontology Research Foundation will present new research on artificial intelligence for drug discovery at the NVIDIA Graphics Technology Conference at the San Jose Convention Center, on Wednesday, May 10, 1:00 PM - 1:50 PM alongside two AI scientists from the BGRF and Insilico Medicine, where they will deliver a presentation titled "Applications of Generative Adversarial Networks to Drug Discovery in Oncology and Infectious Diseases".

VTT printed the paper with antibodies that react to the sample. The test result can be read in the form of a line, for example, which either does or does not appear depending on the sample - just like in the pregnancy tests already familiar to consumers. New training programs help ease serious staffing crisis in hospital laboratory

Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation: Physical medicine and rehabilitation, also referred to as rehabilitation medicine, is the medical specialty concerned with diagnosing, evaluating, and treating patients with physical disabilities.
