Adimab, LLC, a technology leader in the discovery of fully human antibodies, today announced the initiation of two independent collaborations with Biogen Idec and Novo Nordisk. Over the past two years, Adimab has established collaborations with multiple leading pharmaceutical companies, including: Merck, Roche, Novartis, Pfizer, Eli Lilly, Genentech, Human Genome Sciences, and now Biogen Idec and Novo Nordisk.

But researchers from the Kimmel Cancer Center at Jefferson have found differently, according to a study published online Sept. 15 in the Journal of Oncology Practice.
Noting the U.S. government on Thursday "unveiled a major new strategy for pushing towards achieving an 'AIDS-free generation,'" Inter Press Service writes, "The far-reaching new blueprint for what's known as the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) is being widely lauded, yet little attention has been given to a document, published in October, that stipulates how new PEPFAR funding can be used."
Chembio Diagnostics, Inc., a company that develops, manufactures, licenses, and markets proprietary rapid diagnostic tests, announced today that it will present at a meeting of the Blood Products Advisory Committee ("BPAC") of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration ("FDA") in Bethesda, Maryland, on the afternoon of November 17, 2009.
"Health authorities say 207 cases of typhoid are being treated in Zimbabwe's capital after a prolonged spell of unusually hot weather amid acute water shortages," the Associated Press/Seattle Times reports. Prosper Chonzi, Harare city council health director, "said Tuesday the disease will be difficult to contain in impoverished townships relying on water from shallow, makeshift wells and marshlands," and that "humanitarian agencies have been asked to help provide clean water," the news service writes.
