Certain uses of terbutaline could lead to maternal heart problems and death, FDA warns

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is warning that terbutaline administered by injection or through an infusion pump should not be used in pregnant women for prevention or prolonged (beyond 48-72 hours) treatment of preterm labor due to the potential for serious maternal heart problems and death. In addition, oral terbutaline tablets should not be used for prevention or treatment of preterm labor.

AMRI announces acquisition of Hyaluron

AMRI today announced the acquisition of Hyaluron Inc., expanding AMRI's contract manufacturing capabilities to include cGMP manufacturing and sterile filling of parenteral drugs to the biopharmaceutical industry. AMRI has acquired all facilities and equipment as well as a highly trained and experienced staff of professionals with expertise in sterile GMP manufacturing. Purchase price, including debt, was approximately $27 million.
