Solos Endoscopy signs agreement with ER for CE Mark Technical File development consulting services

Solos Endoscopy, Inc. is pleased to announce the Company has signed an agreement with Expert Resource (ER) to provide consulting services in support of the Company's CE Mark Technical File development. Before Solos can place the CE Marking on their medical devices and legally sell within the European Union (EU) and Canada, the Company must prepare a Technical File with evidence of compliance to the EU Medical Device Directive.

Barr to market generic LAMISIL tablets

Barr Pharmaceuticals has announced that Gedeon Richter, Plc. has received final U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) approval for its application to manufacture and market a generic version of Novartis Pharmaceutical Corporation's LAMISIL (terbinafine hydrochloride) Tablets, 250 mg. The approval follows the expiration of pediatric exclusivity for LAMISIL.

Moderate alcohol intake linked to longer life in women

According to a study published in the journal PLoS Medicine, women may benefit from alcohol consumption. The study showed that middle-age women who indulge in one drink a day or less on a regular basis may have a better chance of being healthier when they're older.

WHO report examines donors response to developing countries during H1N1 pandemic

CIDRAP News examines a recently-released WHO report on how donor countries and organizations have responded to the needs of developing countries during the H1N1 (swine flu) pandemic. In September, the WHO estimated the "64 'least-resourced countries' needed a total of $1.48 billion of aid for vaccine, medicines and supplies, laboratory and surveillance services, communications capacity, and other activities to respond to the pandemic," according to the news service.

Report: Prevention efforts averted almost 750,000 child Malaria deaths over 10 years

Malaria prevention efforts - such as the use of bed nets, indoor insecticide spraying and the use of drugs to prevent the disease - have prevented the deaths of almost 750,000 children in 34 African countries over the past 10 years, according to a report.

State licensure is required in each state in which a PT practices.
