New SARS-CoV-2 vaccine effective in macaques

MicroBiome Therapeutics to present clinical trial data of NM504 in type 2 diabetes, prediabetes at ICE/ENDO 2014

MicroBiome Therapeutics LLC, today announced that data from the company's clinical trial of microbiome modulator NM504 in development for type 2 diabetes and prediabetes has been accepted for a Poster Preview Presentation at ICE/ENDO 2014, the joint meeting of the International Society of Endocrinology and The Endocrine Society.

Additional markers of risk for diabetic microvascular complications beyond Hemoglobin A1c needed

The "gold standard" diabetes test, Hemoglobin A1c (A1C), explains much less about the risk of cardiovascular complications in patients with diabetes than originally thought, according to an article in the June 9 issue of the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA). The article entitled, "Beyond HbA1c: Need for Additional Markers of Risk for Diabetic Microvascular Complications," was co-authored by Irl Hirsch, M.D., of the University of Washington Medical School (Seattle, WA) and Michael Brownlee, M.D., of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

Sandoz initiates voluntary recall of Methotrexate Injection

Sandoz Inc. announced today it has initiated a voluntary recall in the US of all 50mg/2mL and 250mg/10mL vials of Sandoz and Parenta brand Methotrexate Injection, USP product ("methotrexate") to the consumer/user level. Consistent with its commitment to quality and patient safety, Sandoz is initiating this voluntary recall of all 24 lots of the affected product following the finding of small glass flakes by Sandoz quality control in a limited number of vials in four lots.

State licensure is required in each state in which a PT practices.
