Momenta prices underwritten public offering

Momenta Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a biotechnology company specializing in the characterization and engineering of complex drugs, today announced the pricing of an underwritten public offering of 4,000,000 shares of its common stock at $14.35 per share. The total proceeds, before expenses, to Momenta will be approximately $57.4 million. The offering is expected to close on December 13, 2010, subject to customary closing conditions.

African American women with invasive breast cancer less likely to receive invasive technique

African American women with early stage, invasive breast cancer were 12 percent less likely than Caucasian women with the same diagnosis to receive a minimally invasive technique, axillary sentinel lymph node (SLN) biopsy, even as the procedure had become the standard of surgical practice, according to research from The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.
