Blocking blood supply of small cell lung cancer tumors may help delay cancer relapse

A study by researchers at Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine has found that blocking the blood supply of small cell lung cancer tumors may help reduce their growth and delay the regrowth process after treatment. Small cell lung cancer is considered the most lethal of all lung cancers.

Allos Therapeutics to present FOLOTYN data for blood cancers at ASH Annual Meeting

Allos Therapeutics, Inc. today announced that five abstracts, describing FOLOTYN (pralatrexate injection) data across different types of blood cancers, were accepted in the program for this year's 52nd American Society of Hematology (ASH) Annual Meeting to be held December 4-7, 2010, in Orlando, Florida.

Study shows patient-specific factors delay skin cancer treatment

If detected early, nonmelanoma skin cancers (primarily basal cell and squamous cell carcinomas, the two most common forms of skin cancer) can be easily treated. But when left untreated, these skin cancers can grow and even spread, causing considerably more harm than if they were treated upon initial detection. Now, a new study finds that denial is the top reason why patients delay seeking treatment for skin cancer and shows that this delay results in larger, more serious, skin cancers.
