Physicians at Rush University Medical Center are offering a new and effective treatment to patients suffering from complex brain aneurysms. The recently FDA-approved technology called the Pipeline Embolization Device (PED) gives doctors the ability for the very first time to treat some of the most complex and dangerous brain aneurysms using minimally invasive techniques.

A Washington Post investigation has found that the city with the highest AIDS rate in the United States, Washington, D.C., has awarded millions of dollars to often ineffective groups with little oversight. Meanwhile, AIDS patients waited years for treatment, faced needs legitimate agencies were unable to meet, and in one case, died alone on a park bench within a couple of miles of a dozen nonprofits meant to care for AIDS patients (Cenziper, 10/18).
Metiscan, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: MTIZ), a holding company focused on growing its organization by making key acquisitions and developing companies and emerging technologies, announced today that it has closed an equity funding of $7.3M, which has been deposited in a restricted cash account owned by Metiscan. Funds shall be distributed subject to a registration statement filed with the SEC becoming effective and other conditions outlined in an account management agreement. The investors also have the option to exercise warrants up to $10M.
