Researchers and clinicians through a multicenter collaboration have identified a novel multisystem disorder caused by bi-allelic variants in the CCDC47 gene. Their findings are reported in the American Journal of Human Genetics.
The Myelin Repair Foundation today announced it has entered a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement with the National Institutes of Health to assess MRF-008, as a potential therapeutic for multiple sclerosis. This CRADA will facilitate collaboration between the MRF and National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke at the NIH Clinical Center to study MRF-008, a drug identified by the MRF as a potential neuroprotective therapeutic to enhance repair in multiple sclerosis patients.
ALLOZYNE Inc. announced today the signing of a worldwide, co-exclusive licensing agreement with Sigma-Aldrich giving ALLOZYNE a license for the use of cycloaddition chemistry in the development of therapeutics and diagnostics. Sigma-Aldrich currently holds broad, worldwide intellectual property for the use of cycloaddition chemistry to conjugate biomolecules.
Merck Serono, a division of Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany, continues to drive the global effort to ensure patients receive personalized cancer therapies. A total of 17 abstracts concerning Merck Serono oncology treatments will be presented at the joint 15th Congress of the European Cancer Organisation (ECCO) and 34th Congress of the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO), to be held in Berlin from 20-24 September 2009.
