Statements on peanut butter Salmonella

Statement from FDA - Product testing by several states has now confirmed that Peter Pan peanut butter and certain Great Value brand peanut butter are the sources of the foodborne illness outbreak of Salmonella Tennessee that began in August 2006. To date 329 individuals have become ill from consuming the contaminated peanut butter, and 51 of those persons were hospitalized.

Morphotek commences MORAb-004 Phase II metastatic soft tissue sarcoma trial

Morphotek, Inc. announced today that it has commenced a multi-center, Phase II study evaluating the safety and efficacy of MORAb-004 when combined with gemcitabine and docetaxel in the treatment of metastatic soft tissue sarcoma.

Fecal incontinence: Sacral nerve stimulation along with Medtronic InterStim Therapy promising

Data published in the March issue of the Annals of Surgery show that investigational use of sacral nerve stimulation with Medtronic InterStim® Therapy reduces fecal incontinent episodes and increases quality of life in patients with the condition. The 120-patient, multi-center study - the largest trial of its kind in the world and the first such trial in North America - examined the efficacy of InterStim Therapy in patients with chronic fecal incontinence who had failed or were not candidates for more conservative treatments.
