Penn researchers use mathematical modeling to better understand mechanisms in TBI

Even the mildest form of a traumatic brain injury, better known as a concussion, can deal permanent, irreparable damage. Now, an interdisciplinary team of researchers at the University of Pennsylvania is using mathematical modeling to better understand the mechanisms at play in this kind of injury, with an eye toward protecting the brain from its long-term consequences.

Study identifies sentinel-lymph-node mapping as safe, accurate way to stage endometrial cancer

Emma Rossi, MD, in the UNC Department of Obstetric and Gynecology's Division of Gynecologic Oncology, has published a study in Lancet Oncology online that identifies sentinel-lymph-node mapping as a safer and less-invasive method of staging endometrial cancer that is equally as accurate as the more traditional lymphadenectomy.
