Epidemiology of obesity, pathophysiology, associated disease and management

Due to the gastrointestinal tract's role in body weight regulation, gastroenterologists should work closely with other medical disciplines to oversee and coordinate the care of obese individuals, according to an American Gastroenterological Association (AGA) Institute Obesity Task Force Report.

Phase 1 clinical trial of XMT-1107 initiated in patients with refractory advanced solid tumors

Mersana Therapeutics, a platform-based cancer therapeutics company, today announced that it has initiated a Phase 1 clinical trial to study the safety and pharmacokinetics of XMT-1107 in patients with refractory advanced solid tumors. XMT-1107 is a novel anti-angiogenic fumagillin analog that employs Mersana's Fleximer platform. Mersana's XMT-1001, a conjugate of Fleximer and camptothecin, is currently completing a Phase 1 study.

Quite without realizing it, apparently, the location of Cruz's birth automatically made him a citizen of our socialist (in healthcare, at least) neighbor to the north. Did his mother receive excellent free medical care under Canada's single-payer healthcare system when her baby was born in Calgary, Alberta, in 1970? Did little Ted, who moved back to the United States with his Cuban-born father and American-born mother when he was 4, get free vaccinations and pediatric care from his Canadian doctors? Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences today officially opened a new 30,000 square foot, $10M academic center at 40 Foster St. in downtown Worcester. On hand at the event were Congressman Jim McGovern (D-MA), Worcester City Manager Michael O'Brien, Worcester Mayor Konstantina Lukes and MCPHS President Charles F. Monahan Jr.
