Foreign particles in some products filled at Genzyme's Allston Landing facility, "Dear Doctor" letter issued

BioMarin Pharmaceutical Inc. announced today that Genzyme notified the company that, in rare circumstances, it has detected foreign particles in some products filled at the Allston Landing facility. To ensure that patients are not exposed to foreign particles during product administration, Genzyme has issued a "Dear Doctor" letter to all physicians treating patients with enzyme replacement products that it markets, including Aldurazyme.

The Department of Family Medicine at the Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine has entered into a two-year $973,000 agreement with the New Jersey Department of Human Services Division of Mental Health Addiction Services to provide early intervention and treatment services for individuals who have, or are at risk for, substance abuse disorders.
