ImThera Medical releases interim results of clinical study on neurostimulation device for treating OSA

ImThera Medical, Inc. today announced interim results from its OSA European clinical study. For the study, ten patients have been surgically implanted with ImThera's aura6000 hypoglossal nerve neurostimulation device for treating Obstructive Sleep Apnea. The target population for ImThera's neurostimulation device is moderate and severe OSA patients who are non-compliant with or cannot tolerate Continuous Positive Airway Pressure.

Altered coagulation caused by HIV virus linked to increased risk of non-AIDS diseases

With more than 36.9 million people infected globally, HIV continues to be a major public health issue. Tobacco treatment program in an oncologic setting could foster smoking cessation

A tobacco treatment program delivered at a cancer center had average seven-day smoking abstinence rates of about 45% at three- and six-month follow-ups and nearly 44% at the nine-month follow-up, and those rates didn't differ between patients with and without cancer.
