The finding indicates that this synchronized brain activity is crucial in establishing and facilitating face-to-face social interaction.

TSO3 new generation sterilizers allowed CE Mark labeling

TSO3 Inc., an innovator in sterilization technology for medical devices in healthcare settings using ozone, today announced that documentation supplied to the European Notified Body conforms to the new Medical Device Directive for Class IIb medical devices; an enhanced European standard to be enforced starting April 2010. This notification allows the Company to label its new generation sterilizers with the CE Mark, which is a requirement to place products in the European Union; the second largest sterilization market after the United States.

First Australian clinic to exclusively diagnose and treat fetal alcohol spectrum disorders

Australia will soon have its first screening and diagnostic service for children with alcohol-related birth defects. The service is being set up by The Children's Hospital at Westmead in Sydney amid concerns that thousands of Australian children are suffering from fetal alcohol spectrum disorders (FASD). The disorders are triggered in unborn babies exposed to alcohol consumed by their mothers and are the most common, preventable cause of disabilities and brain damage in children.

U of U researchers use MRI to diagnose autism

University of Utah (U of U) medical researchers have made an important step in diagnosing autism through using MRI, an advance that eventually could help health care providers identify the problem much earlier in children and lead to improved treatment and outcomes for those with the disorder.
