Court dismisses Illumina's patent infringement lawsuits against Affymetrix

Affymetrix, Inc. today announced that the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin (the "Court") has granted the company's motion for summary judgment that Affymetrix does not infringe the patents held by Illumina, Inc., and has directed that the patent infringement lawsuits brought against the company by Illumina regarding U.S. Patent Nos. 7,510,841 and 7,612,020 be dismissed and the cases closed.

Lian Duan, an NJIT computer scientist with an expertise in data mining, has done just that with the recent publication of "Adverse Drug Effect Detection," IEEE Journal of Biomedical and Health Informatics (March, 2013).
