Eli Lilly and Company's investigational compound ruboxistaurin may reduce vision loss from diabetes-induced eye disease, according to new analyses of previously reported data presented at the 2004 Joint Meeting of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the European Society of Ophthalmology in New Orleans, La.
Within the framework of a recent research project, University of Granada researchers will analyse how sleep disorders affect risk perception in driving. To such purpose, three last-generation simulators provided by the Faculty of Psychology will be employed.
OpGen, Inc., a microbial genomics solutions company, announced the launch of the Argus Optical Mapping System for microbial whole genome analysis at the ASM 2010 General Meeting held in San Diego, CA May 23-27, 2010. The Argus Optical Mapping System is based on Optical Mapping Technology which generates ordered, whole genome restriction maps from single DNA molecules.
Oncologist Allison Kurian, MD, and her colleagues at the Stanford University School of Medicine were perplexed. Computer models designed to identify women who might have dangerous genetic mutations that increase their risk of breast and ovarian cancer worked well for white women. But they seemed to be less reliable for another ethnic group.
