AVEO Oncology and Astellas Pharma Global Development, Inc., a U.S. subsidiary of Tokyo-based Astellas Pharma Inc., today announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's Oncologic Drugs Advisory Committee will review the company's New Drug Application for tivozanib for the treatment of patients with advanced renal cell carcinoma during the morning session of its meeting on May 2, 2013.
For the first time, it has been shown that deficits of semantic memory, an ability we use to recognize objects and use them correctly, are involved in specific eating disorders shared by patients suffering from dementia.
At a plenary session Thursday at the 19th Conference on Retroviruses and Opportunistic Infections, Christopher Murray of the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) "presented preliminary data from the 2010 revision of the Global Burden of Disease," which "is aimed at analyzing global health trends to quantify the comparative magnitude of health loss due to diseases, injuries and risk factors by age, sex and geography for specific points in time," the Center for Global Health Policy's "Science Speaks" blog reports.
CardioGenics Holdings Inc., developer of the ultra-sensitive QL Care Point-Of-Care analyzer and products for the immunoassay segment of the In-Vitro Diagnostics market, announced that the Company's subsidiary, CardioGenics Inc., has entered into an agreement with Merck Chimie S.A.S. to adopt its proprietary biological-linking technology to Merck-supplied magnetic beads designed to increase yields in antibody manufacturing.
