Xencor, Inc., a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company developing engineered monoclonal antibodies for the treatment of autoimmune diseases, asthma and allergic diseases, and cancer, today announced updates on its lead product candidates, XmAb®5871 and XmAb®7195, and on its XmAb® bispecific oncology pipeline.
A new medication that researchers had hoped would reduce the risk of arterial renarrowing after stenting has turned in a disappointing performance in a multicenter clinical trial, but the multi-reservoir stent that was used to deliver the drug is still considered promising.
In January, North American Breweries launched a company-wide Weight Loss Challenge for employees. Teams of four surfaced and weighed in. During the next three months, the teams dieted, exercised and adopted healthy habits - competing for prizes - and bragging rights.
The Prostate Cancer Foundation (PCF) has committed more than $19 million in new research funding for scientific investigations focused on discovering new treatments for recurrent prostate cancer. A total of eight programs representing 18 leading research institutions and 36 researchers were selected as part of the foundation's 2008 Challenge Awards. The funded programs will receive the first of three annual payments, ranging between $500,000 and $1.0 million per program, this week.
