Blood levels of progesterone, a major female sex hormone, may play an important role in modifying vascular function in postmenopausal women, according to a new study accepted for publication in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism (JCEM).
In a study to determine the diagnostic value of molecular imaging in nodal staging of patients with thyroid cancer, researchers were able for the first time to accurately distinguish between cancerous cells in regional lymph nodes and normal residual thyroid tissue directly after surgery.
The California Institute for Regenerative Medicine - which is in charge of implementing the 10-year, $2.95 billion state human embryonic stem cell research program approved under Proposition 71 - on Wednesday released a draft spending plan that "sets a strikingly modest tone" for outcomes of the research.
