A new study reports that Britons are turning to prescription drugs for every illness, minor or major. This recent paper titled "A Pill for Every Ill", published in Social Science & Medicine journal says that while two decades earlier average number of prescriptions dispensed per person was only eight, it is more than 16 now.
In a study of the impact of weight loss on reversing heart damage from obesity, Johns Hopkins researchers found that poor heart function in young obese mice can be reversed when the animals lose weight from a low-calorie diet.
Vical Incorporated announced the publication in the June issue of Melanoma Research of updated data from the company's Phase 2 trial of high-dose (2 mg) Allovectin-7® in patients with metastatic melanoma.
