Scientists at Oxford University have identified the gene responsible for doubling the risk of respiratory failure from COVID-19.
The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) was awarded nearly $2M in research funding from the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) to study antibiotic delivery to children returning home after hospitalization for a severe bacterial infection.
Axis Three (www.axisthree.com), the leader and pioneer of 3D surgical simulation tools for aesthetic consultations, today announced the availability of its new XS-200 scanner, designed to capture high quality, anatomically-accurate, 3D images of a patient's face in order to simulate facial surgery outcomes.
An international research consortium led by Dr Jordi Surrallés, director of the Genetics Service at the Hospital de Sant Pau and professor of Genetics at the UAB, and by Dr Miquel Àngel Pujana, director of the ProCURE Research Programme of the Catalan Institute of Oncology, has identified a novel gene involved in this type of cancer, known as EDC4.
