Dizziness is one of the most common medical complaints affecting older adults, with 10-20 percent of such complaints resulting from Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV). Now, a new evidence-based review has found that a single ten minute in-office treatment, based on a series of head and body turns, is highly effective in resolving this disorder, with an overall effectiveness of 70-80 percent.
Trigemina, Inc., a biopharmaceutical company focused on the discovery and development of non-narcotic, nasally delivered, analgesic drug products, today announced that the Instituto de Salud Publica of Chile has approved the Company's protocol for its Phase 2 clinical study of TI-001, intranasal oxytocin, for the treatment of chronic migraine.
An international team of experts led by researchers in the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and University of Glasgow has been awarded a $9.7 million, five-year grant from the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke and National Institute for Aging to establish CONNECT-TBI-a program spanning 12 institutions which will study traumatic brain injury and related neurodegenerative diseases.
Medtronic plc today announced three-month results from a large, multicenter randomized controlled trial showing statistically significant (p=0.0009) and superior back pain relief with Differential Target Multiplexed (DTM) Spinal Cord Stimulation (SCS) compared to conventional SCS.
Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack says he could accept a Senate compromise on school lunch standards, but strongly opposes a House Appropriations Committee plan that would grant waivers to school districts that say they can't afford to comply with the Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Act.
