In the past few years, a number of anti-cancer drugs have been developed which are directed selectively against specific key molecules of tumor cells.
For specialist nurses on neurocritical care units, accompanying patients for imaging scans and other procedures has a major impact on nurse staffing ratios, reports a study in the Journal of Neuroscience Nursing, official journal of the American Association of Neuroscience Nurses.
Uroplasty, Inc. (AMEX: UPI), a medical device company developing, manufacturing and marketing innovative proprietary products for the treatment of voiding dysfunctions, today announced that nine abstracts outlining study results submitted by various researchers have been accepted for presentation at the 2010 Annual Meeting of the Society for Urodynamics and Female Urology (SUFU), February 23-27, 2010 in St. Petersburg, FL. Presentations accepted were for both Uroplasty's Urgent® PC Neuromodulation System and Macroplastique® urethral bulking agent products.
Researchers from Brigham and Women's Hospital have identified what they believe to be the cells responsible for fibrosis, the buildup of scar tissue. Fibrotic diseases, such as chronic kidney disease and failure, lung disease, heart failure and cirrhosis of the liver, are estimated to be responsible for up to 45 percent of deaths in the developed world.
