Children with a parent who was deployed in the U.S. military efforts Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) and Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) for longer periods were more likely than children whose parents did not deploy to receive a diagnosis of a mental health problem, according to a report published Online First today by Archives of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine, one of the JAMA/Archives journals.
Data from interim analyses of a Phase III clinical study in patients with primary immune deficiency (PID) who received Baxter's HyQ were presented at the 26th meeting of the European Society for Immunodeficiencies (ESID) in Istanbul, Turkey. HyQ is an immune globulin (IG) therapy facilitated subcutaneously by recombinant human hyaluronidase, a dispersion and permeation enhancer.
Researchers at the Center for Molecular and Behavioral Neuroscience (CMBN) at Rutgers University in Newark have identified the need to develop a new framework for understanding "perceptual stability" and how we see the world with their discovery that visual input obtained during eye movements is being processed by the brain but blocked from awareness.
A new study from the University of Toronto helps explain why higher education appears to slow down cognitive decline as people age. It seems possible that education strengthens the ability to "call in the reserves" of mental prowess.
