Planning and operational management teams from medical schools, university affiliated hospitals, and academic health science centers across the country will meet at Tradeline's 4th Annual Academic Medical & Health Science Centers Conference November 15-16th at the Hyatt Regency in Scottsdale, Arizona, to chart out strategies for the changing health care model. Although thousands of scientific papers evaluate and compare new and established drugs each year, providing evidence to help doctors prescribe safe and effective doses, almost no studies focus on when or how to stop these medications, even late in life.
To help physicians decrease the number of deaths resulting from traumatic brain injuries, Chandan Reddy, associate professor in the Department of Computer Science and faculty at the Discovery Analytics Center, will use new machine learning techniques for computational models to predict short- and long-term outcomes, categorize traumatic brain injury patients, and provide interventions tailored to a specific patient and his or her injury.
James Cook University scientists in Australia say they have the solution for a problem gym-goers have when they combine endurance and weight training.
