Infertile men are at nearly three times greater risk for developing clinically significant prostate cancer than the average man according to a new study published in the journal, Cancer.
After decades of scientific efforts, the search for successful treatments of many cancers and most metastatic disease, Alzheimer's and other incapacitating and/or deadly conditions sometimes seems to have hit a wall.
Research conducted at the University of Campinas in São Paulo State, Brazil, shows that vigorous physical exercise such as strength and weight training can reduce accumulated liver fat and improve blood sugar control in obese and diabetic individuals in a short time span, even before significant weight loss occurs.
On May 21-23, 2012, Diversity Alliance for Science, Inc., a non-profit organization created to support, mentor, and develop minority-, woman-, veteran/service-disabled-, HUBZone-, and LGBT-owned, life sciences businesses, will host its fifth annual networking conference and EXPO event.
Asked to identify their leading cause of stress, 23 percent of respondents selected "finances" and 21 percent chose "job/career" - the top two responses to an online poll conducted by LifeCare, Inc., the exclusive provider of Life Event Management Services. The poll was open to employees of LifeCare's 1,500 client companies nationwide via its web site, www.lifecare.com, during the month of April.
