BioAlliance Pharma SA, a company dedicated to the treatment and supportive care of cancer and AIDS patients, has presented preclinical results on its new biotherapy, AMEP™ for advanced and metastatic melanoma at the ESGCT (European Society of Gene and Cell Therapy) in Hannover (November 21 to 25, 2009).
A multi-institution team, funded by the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), today reported results of the largest effort to date to chart the genetic changes involved in the most common form of lung cancer, lung adenocarcinoma. The findings should help pave the way for more individualized approaches for detecting and treating the nation's leading cause of cancer deaths.
The Elders Living at Home Program (ELAHP) at Boston Medical Center has received a three-year, $864,400 Aging in Place Grant from the Administration on Aging (AoA). The grant will be used to develop, implement and evaluate an intervention to support formerly homeless elders who have already transitioned to housing but need support to maintain it.
