The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, part of the National Institutes of Health, and Children's National Health System, a pediatric academic medical center in Washington, D.C., have launched a clinical research partnership devoted to treating and preventing allergic, immunologic and infectious diseases in children.

The need for psychiatric services in inpatient hospitals continues to grow, according to the latest annual survey from the National Association of Psychiatric Health Systems released today. The survey reports 2012 data that was collected in 2013 from NAPHS-member organizations. Data were analyzed and reported by Dobson DaVanzo & Associates, LLC, Vienna, VA.
The World Health Organization (WHO) has labeled the double mutant B.1.617 variant — first discovered in India —a variant of concern for its high transmission rate and ability to evade immune responses. New research posted to the preprint server bioRxiv finds B.1.617 can modestly reduce neutralizing antibody responses generated from the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine.
