International fast food giant McDonald's is currently facing at least three lawsuits in the United States.
There are three times as many people with the chronic and debilitating bowel disorder called inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) as ever thought before, according to a new study presented today at UEG Week 2019, at Barcelona. Not only is the condition a distressing one in itself, but patients with IBD have a higher risk of colorectal cancer as well.
Researchers at UC Davis have illuminated an important distinction between mice and humans: how human livers heal. The difference centers on a protein called PPARα, which activates liver regeneration. Normally, mouse PPARα is far more active and efficient than the human form, allowing mice to quickly regenerate damaged livers.
Bronfenbrenner's ecological systems theory emphasizes the development of a series of nested environment systems with which an individual interacts. These systems interact with the individual, and also affect the development of the individual.
Doctors already know that weight loss can be an effective treatment for improving sleep apnea, although the reasons for this have remained unclear. Now, new research has uncovered that a reduction in tongue fat is the key to why fat loss helps in instances of Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA).
