Southwest Bancorp prices underwritten public offering of 4,000,000 common stock shares at $12.50 per share

Southwest Bancorp, Inc., today announced that it has priced its underwritten public offering of 4,000,000 shares of common stock at a price to the public of $12.50 per share for net proceeds of approximately $47.0 million. The offering was increased from the previously announced offering size of approximately $40 million. The offering is expected to close on April 29, 2010.

Exergen's TemporalScanner demonstrates accuracy in temperature assessment for surgical patients

Temperatures taken orally or by temporal artery thermometry "are an accurate means of temperature assessment for adult patients undergoing colorectal or gynecology surgery," according to analysis published by the Journal of PeriAnesthesia Nursing. Accurate temperature readings are necessary to determine when to intervene for patients at all stages of their hospitalizations but especially during and immediately after surgical procedures to avoid post-operative complications.

Alcohol abuse may lead to depression risk, rather than vice versa

Inovio Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a leader in the development of therapeutic and preventive vaccines against cancers and infectious diseases, announced today that the peer-reviewed journal Molecular Therapy has published a paper entitled "Comparative Analysis of Immune Responses Induced by Vaccination With SIV Antigens by Recombinant Ad5 Vector or Plasmid DNA in Rhesus Macaques." The paper, co-authored by researchers from Merck, University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, and Inovio Pharmaceuticals, notes that significant advances in the design, formulation, and delivery of DNA plasmid-based vaccines have dramatically increased their ability to induce antigen-specific immune responses.
