Data on serum DNA blood tests for early detection of cancer to be presented at ASCO 2010

Chronix Biomedical today reported a summary of data supporting the utility of its serum DNA blood tests for the early and accurate detection of breast cancer and prostate cancer. The unique testing algorithms developed by Chronix detected and correctly identified DNA fragments in the blood from dying (apoptotic) cancer cells with 92% sensitivity and 100% specificity in both prostate cancer and breast cancer.

Go Daddy gifts $500,000 to Southwest Center for HIV/AIDS to launch Women's Health Center in Phoenix

Southwest Center for HIV/AIDS received $500,000 from Go Daddy to launch the Go Daddy Women's Health Center in Phoenix. The gift was announced by Go Daddy CEO and Founder Bob Parsons at the company's annual holiday event held Saturday, December 11 at Chase Field in Phoenix. Injecting PAP may reduce chronic pain: Research

A study published in the Aug. 4, 2010 issue of the Journal of Neuroscience introduces an enzyme that could pack a big punch in the battle against chronic pain. Its name is prostatic acid phosphatase or PAP for short. According to researchers at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, PAP blocks pain in animal models by siphoning off a molecule called PIP2—a critical component of the chemical cascade behind chronic pain.
