BDSI announces over 50% enrolled in BEMA Buprenorphine Phase 3 study in chronic pain
BioDelivery Sciences International, Inc. announced today that enrollment of its Phase 3 trial assessing the efficacy and safety of BEMA Buprenorphine for the treatment of moderate to severe chronic pain is on schedule, with over half of the needed subjects enrolled.
New clinical trial may help reduce radiation dose for patients with HPV-positive oropharyngeal cancer
Researchers from Fox Chase Cancer Center and other institutions have completed a phase II clinical trial that may help identify those patients with HPV-positive oropharyngeal cancer who do not require the full radiation dose given in a standard regimen of Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT). Preliminary findings will be presented by Shanthi Marur, first author on the study and an oncologist at the Johns Hopkins Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center, at the 49th Annual Meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology on Sunday, June 2.
$1.5 billion needed to cover years supply of pediatric vaccines
A six-month stockpile of recommended pediatric vaccines would cost $1 billion and could cover more than 90 percent of U.S. children during a six-month interruption in production, say researchers at two Illinois universities.
