Emergent BioSolutions acquires Bracco Diagnostics' Healthcare Protective Products Division

Emergent BioSolutions Inc. announced today that it has closed on its acquisition of Bracco Diagnostics Inc.'s Healthcare Protective Products Division. This acquisition, which includes the RSDL (decontamination lotion) product that is cleared for marketing by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for removal or neutralization of chemical warfare agents from the skin, diversifies and broadens Emergent's biodefense franchise into the chemical countermeasure market.

Johns Hopkins students take the top honor for developing PrestoPatch system

A Johns Hopkins undergraduate biomedical engineering student team that devised a two-part system to improve the way life-saving shocks are delivered to hearts earned first-prize in the undergraduate division of a national Collegiate Inventors Competition. In the graduate-level competition, Isaac Kinde, a Johns Hopkins medical student, received third-place honors for developing a test to detect ovarian and endometrial cancers as part of a team at the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center.
