Home-based medical devices to grow over 1.6M by 2013: Report

Emerging Healthcare Solutions, Inc. applauded the results of a new report from InMedica on the world market for telemedicine, predicting that the use of home-based medical devices will drastically increase as telemedicine takes-off. According to the report, by 2013 the combined unit shipments of home-use digital blood-glucose meters, blood pressure monitors, weight scales, pulse oximeters and peak flow meters used in telemedical applications will grow to over 1.6 million.

First patient enrolled in CryoLife's PerClot IDE clinical trial

CryoLife, Inc., a leading medical device and tissue processing company focused on cardiac and vascular surgery, announced today the enrollment of the first patient in its PerClot Investigational Device Exemption (IDE) clinical trial, the Company's pivotal clinical trial to gain approval to commercialize PerClot in the U.S.

Clinipace acquires Worldwide Clinical Research, changes its name to Clinipace Worldwide

Clinipace, a global technology-driven clinical research organization (CRO), announced today that on October 26th, 2009 the company closed its acquisition of Worldwide Clinical Research, Inc. (WWCR), a Midwest-based CRO specializing in the management of clinical studies for biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies. With the acquisition, Clinipace has changed its name to Clinipace Worldwide.
