Researchers have discovered key details of how rheumatoid arthritis (RA) destroys bone, according to a study published in the Aug. 22 edition of the Journal of Biological Chemistry. The findings are already guiding attempts to design new drugs to reverse RA-related bone loss and may also address more common forms of osteoporosis with a few adjustments.
September and October, the traditional "shoulder season" between summer's high season and winter's low season, are good months for slow walkers and individuals with special needs to travel. There are fewer tourists overall, meaning more space on walkways and fewer lines for museums and other attractions. Prices drop, too, especially for international destinations.
Researchers at the University of Illinois at Chicago were able to reduce uncertainty in diagnosing cardiac sarcoidosis by having patients consume a high-fat, low-sugar diet for 72 hours prior to diagnostic imaging.
BioClinica, Inc., a leading global provider of clinical trial services, is helping to advance the discipline of clinical data management and will demonstrate integrated eClinical and imaging data management technology and expertise at the 2009 Society of Clinical Data Management (SCDM) Annual Conference, October 4-6, 2009 in Seattle, WA (Booth # 401).
