The University of New Hampshire has launched a joint research laboratory with the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS) to promote international research in agricultural development and the environment, announced Tom Brady, dean of the College of Life Sciences and Agriculture at UNH recently.
In operation since recently at the Centre hospitalier de l'Université de Montréal (CHUM), the CyberKnife(R) Robotic Radiosurgery System, is revolutionizing the treatment of both cancerous and non-cancerous tumors anywhere in the body. Used in radiation oncology, the CyberKnife System is the latest word in radiosurgery technology. Designed to destroy tumours using radiation beams, it is the first system of its kind to treat tumors non-invasively to be installed in Canada.
Recent reports suggesting a link between long-term bisphosphonate usage and rare bone fractures have sparked rising concern among patients, health care professionals and the public. The American Society of Bone and Mineral Research (ASBMR) is examining this urgent clinical issue and will present its findings later this year.
