A study published online in a nature journal Scientific Reports suggests that talking in the third person to oneself in stressful times might help controlling emotions and it needs no additional mental effort than first person self-talk, which is normally used by people to talk to themselves.
Writing in the "UHC Forward" blog, Nkem Wellington, program officer at the Results for Development Institute (R4D), summarizes a debate that took place on the Performance-Based Financing Community of Practice online discussion forum following the December 12 U.N. General Assembly vote on the "Global health and foreign policy" draft resolution, which focused on universal health coverage (UHC).
The findings reveal that the two-dose regimen of the vaccine is almost 90% effective against severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection. Moreover, the vaccine shows high efficacy against the B.1.1.7 variant (Alpha) of SARS-CoV-2.
Vical Incorporated announced today that a prime-boost malaria vaccine regimen provided sterile protection, with no disease symptoms and no detectable malaria parasites, in 4 of 15 vaccinated volunteers a full 28 days after challenge with multiple infected-mosquito bites.
Patients with Parkinson's disease who also have dementia fall into two main pathologic categories, characterized by neocortical synucleinopathy in isolation and neocortical synucleinopathy with amyloid beta deposition.
