CEO Cynthia (Dohmen) LaConte announced today that the Dohmen Company has acquired BioSoteria, a leading provider of drug safety and risk management services to the biopharmaceutical industry.
Patients who have had total joint replacement (TJR) are expected to return to their physician's office or clinic regularly for routine follow-up care. In a new study presented today at the 2012 Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), researchers asked 210 TKR patients to either complete a Web-based follow-up, which included an online survey and an X-ray taken at the nearest Internet-enabled facility; or, to return to the clinic/office for their regular appointment.
NeuroVasx, Inc., a medical device company that develops technologies for the treatment of hemorrhagic and ischemic stroke, announced today that it has received approval to market its cPAX Aneurysm Treatment System in Canada from Health Canada's Therapeutic Products Directorate. In addition to Canadian regulatory approval, the cPAX System also received CE Mark in March 2009.
This cut in wasteful or improper payments in social welfare programs, including Medicare and Medicaid, applies to the year ending Sept. 30.
The preliminary results of a malaria vaccine trial in African infants show that the vaccine gave a high level of protection and was also safe.
