A protein released from the lungs of a developing mouse fetus initiates a cascade of chemical events leading to the mother's initiation of labor, researchers at UT Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas have found.
Smoking is a known risk factor for the development of various forms of cancer. A genetic variant that is particularly prevalent in people of African ancestry confers protection against malaria. LMU researchers have now shown how it modulates the properties of white blood cells that play a major role in immune defenses and inflammation.
Varian, Inc. announced today that Steady State Imaging (SSI) has signed a reseller's agreement with Varian, Inc. regarding SSI's new SWIFT Software for Varian's research MRI Systems.
