Three months and more than 37,000 pounds later, The Biggest Loser Summer Challenge has a winner: Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota and its employees, who lost more than 3,780 pounds or 2.80 percent of their total weight in pounds per employee since Memorial Day.
Researchers from the University of Murcia have studied the changes in the brain that are associated with impulsiveness, a personality trait that causes difficulties in inhibiting a response in the face of a stimulus and leads to unplanned actions without considering the negative consequences.
The MycetOS project was launched today by the University of Sydney, Erasmus MC, and the Drugs for Neglected Diseases initiative to use an Open Pharma approach to discover compounds that could lead to new treatments for patients suffering from fungal mycetoma (eumycetoma), a devastating disease for which current treatments are ineffective, expensive, and toxic.
A team of researchers across The University of Manchester have shown that a new class of drugs are able to stop ovarian cancer cells growing.
