With the support of a second grant of more than $3 million from the National Institutes of Health, researchers from the Regenstrief Institute, Indiana University, Brown University, the University of Toronto, and Moi University in Eldoret, Kenya are building upon their landmark study of Kenyan orphans which found that those living in orphanages were healthier, both physically and mentally, than those living with extended family members.
The Udall Center at the University of Minnesota Medical School was awarded a new $11.3 million grant from the National Institute for Neurological Disorders and Stroke to continue its work in deep brain stimulation (DBS) for Parkinson's disease.
New York University College of Dentistry is pleased to announce that, effective January 2015, it will offer an accelerated, continuous, 17-month, Associate in Applied Science degree in dental hygiene.
According to new studies commonly used anesthetics may be causing brain damage in people, especially babies who receive them while their brains are still developing.
While immune therapy has proven effective in treating certain types of cancer, especially lung cancer and melanoma, tumors of the pancreas remain among the most difficult to treat and, so far, are impervious to immune-based therapies.
